2024 Read-a-Thon - CLOSED FOR THE YEAR


It’s time for our 17th annual Read-a-Thon, taking place for 2 weeks from February 26th – March 11th, 2024, to coincide with the National Read-Across-America and Dr. Seuss’ birthday. We want you to be informed of this fun event!

  • Our Read-a-Thon is a PTA-sponsored fundraising event. Students are being asked to collect donations from their family and friends. In return, students will pledge to read books during the 2 week period. Donations earned may be a specific amount per book read, or a set amount for the 2 weeks.
  • This year, monetary & online donations will be accepted. Monetary donations may be turned in to the library inside of a labeled envelope.
  • Read-a-Thon incentives:
    • Those who donate $25 will be entered into an opportunity drawing for the Read-a-Thon grand prize: an Engino Mini STEM & Robotics Bundle (valued at $289).
    • The top English class and the top Spanish Dual Immersion class that raise the most money will be awarded a popsicle party.
  • To qualify for the prizes, donations must be made by Monday, March 11th, 2024. Winners of the prizes will be announced on Friday, March 15th, 2024.
  • We are hoping for 100% participation, and our school goal is to raise $5,000. All the proceeds of the Read-a-Thon will be used to purchase new books for the Hedenkamp school library. Donations may be tax deductible.
